August saw camp season continue with cadets at RAF Northolt and at NACATC Fairbourne. Our cadets said the thing they most enjoyed was Afternoon Tea at the RAF Club in London. Fairbourne was a DofE camp with one cadet completing their Actual Gold Expedition and one completing their Practice. They both seemed to enjoy themselves, completed their
expeditions and got good reports..
The month has mostly seen us preparing for Wing Field Day, a competition between all the squadrons in the Wing. Obviously we have been busy practicing the drill and banner routine, as well as working on the stem project. We dont have photos of these yet as they are all top secret until after competition day in October. Because the date of WFD was moved, this allowed us to add a flight drill competition to our programme. This was won by Atlas Flight. who were presented with the Flight cup.
We also ran a Silver Duke of Edinburgh expedition in Derbyshire. This was hard work, not helped by the heat, but all the group completed and passed. Congratulations to all of them, now onto Gold.
