This past Tuesday, 2286 Squadron took on an exciting and unique challenge: creating "Tea for Two286!" Teams from each section worked together to bake, style, improvise, and serve a delightful afternoon tea to three suspiciously familiar VIP guests. (Spoiler alert: they were none other than Fg Off Sheikh and two SNCOs in disguise!)

The cadets showed off their creativity and teamwork, transforming their ideas into a fantastic afternoon tea experience. Some teams even improvised tables using tyres, planks, and bivvy sheets! The VIPs were treated to:
🍰 Three types of sandwiches, including classic cream cheese and cucumber (with crusts removed, of course).
🍓 Scones served with jam and cream.
🍫 Sweet treats, such as mini pavlovas, chocolate marshmallow mousse, and lemon meringue tarts.
Fg Off Sheikh reflected on the evening, saying: "Our VIP guests were blown away by the effort and creativity shown by the cadets. From the food to the presentation, every team put their heart into making this a memorable experience."
The competition brought out the best in every team, with impressive attention to detail and unique themes. Cadets not only showcased their cooking skills but also demonstrated excellent time management, problem-solving, and teamwork under pressure.

Congratulations to Cadet Baker’s team, who were voted as the best table! Their aviation-themed tea, complete with a guard of honour for their "guests," was a hit with the judges.
Cadet Baker, reflecting on the evening, shared his excitement: "It was such a fun way to work as a team. We learned loads about planning and time management, and we couldn’t stop laughing when the VIPs stayed completely in character!"

Activities like "Tea for Two286" showcase 2286's and the RAF Air Cadets' focus on combining life skills with fun and teamwork. Cadets gained experience in cooking, organization, and presentation while building confidence and enjoying a healthy dose of competition.
