Recognizing the Dedication and Resilience of Our Cadets
At 2286 (Coventry Arden) Squadron, we're thrilled to celebrate a new group of cadets who have achieved their Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards! This prestigious award requires cadets to show resilience, commitment, and community spirit, making it a fantastic achievement for all involved. We're proud to recognize the hard work of Sgt Cerys Ryan, Sgt George Foster, Sgt Kynan French, Cpl Cameron Brooks, Cpl Isaac Hands, and Cdt Kisara Peramunugamage.
A Journey Marked by Adventure and Determination
The journey to Silver DofE has not been easy. These cadets braved two challenging expeditions: a memorable April practice expedition in Northamptonshire, where they endured record-breaking rain, and an August expedition in the Peak District under the hottest conditions we’ve seen on record! Through wet and scorching weather alike, they demonstrated true teamwork and determination.
Beyond the Expedition
To complete their DofE Silver Awards, cadets also excelled in three other sections:
Skill Development: Each cadet pursued unique skills that ranged from radio communication and cyber security to ceremonial drill, expanding their expertise within and beyond the Squadron.
Physical Endeavours: They independently trained to improve fitness and health, with regular Squadron check-ins to stay motivated and track progress.
Volunteering: Each cadet gave back by mentoring younger cadets, supporting Squadron events, and helping cultivate a positive community within 2286.
Their achievements highlight what makes 2286 (Coventry Arden) Squadron so special: a strong culture of teamwork, resilience, and self-improvement.
Celebrating Success at 2286 Squadron
These cadets' success brings pride not only to our squadron but also to the broader Coventry community. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and look forward to watching them continue to grow and inspire others.
