JOINING THE SQUADRON AS A CADET
JOINING THE SQUADRON AS STAFF
We're always on the lookout for new staff to join the team. You don't have to be an ex-cadet, or have any particular special skills, although all our staff are hard workers, motivated and interested in training and helping the cadets reach their full potential.

All our staff start out as Civilian Instructors, and from there can develop their skills, qualifications and interests. Some then choose to go into uniform, but whichever you want, you will be guaranteed the opportunity to develop your skills and interests.

To discuss joining as staff in more detail and to begin to process, get in touch with the OC to make an appointment.
JOINING THE CIVILIAN COMMITTEE
As little as we hear about them, the Squadron Civilian Committee play a very vital role in the life of the Squadron. Made up of parents, local community members and other interesting people, the Civilian Committee act much like school governors and PTA, from watching over the financial health of the Squadron to acting as Charity Trustees, supporting the staff and in some cases, acting as civilian instructors and teaching cadets in the role of cleared Civilian Committee members.

The Civilian Committee meet approximately every six weeks during a parade evening for a short meeting and tea, so if you have an evening to spare, we would be very happy to have you in the Civ Com!

If you are interested in joining, please get in touch with the Officer Commanding or the Squadron Chairman to begin the process, or come along to one of our meetings or the AGM - check out the Events page for the next meetings.
JOINING OUR ALUMNI
We are looking to developing a formal Alumni society for the family of Team 2286 - so watch this space.

In the meantime, if you would be interested in visiting the Squadron, hosting a Q&A session with the current cadets, or attending out awards evenings, please contact the OC to discuss it further. We know many of our Alumni have gone on to really interesting careers in all sorts of places, and we always love to hear how the RAF Air Cadets sparked many of these journeys!
