We are a voluntary youth organisation based on and supported by the Royal Air Force offering a huge range of activities and opportunities to young people aged 12-20 years.
Our cadets have the chance to get involved in a huge range of exciting activities such as powered flying and gliding, the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, target shooting and fieldcraft to name but a few.
If you are 12-18 years old and you think you would enjoy doing a range of activities like flying, gliding, shooting, adventure training, as well as gaining a variety of new skills and qualifications, all whilst enjoying new experiences and meeting new people, then the Air Cadets is for you!
To be a place of growth and support for young people, showcasing the best of the RAF ethos and values.
I am delighted to welcome you to the internet home of 2286 (Coventry Arden) Squadron. We are a lively, thriving squadron based in the centre of Coventry city. Welcome to team 2286!
My enthusiastic staff team ensure all cadets get the best cadet experience possible, with personalised learning pathways, cadet-focused training and a wide range of engaging activities and experiences. Many of my staff were cadets themselves, and understand the importance of the cadet experience, having become staff to replicate this for the next generation of cadets.
Something that sets us apart from other units is our commitment to providing a range of skills for life training and external qualifications, helping to set cadets up for their future careers and lives. We also take pride in offering the widest possible training programme, incorporating unusual cadet training opportunities, including radio training and in-Squadron shooting opportunities. Our unique approach to badges has meant we have some of the shiniest brassards in the Wing!
I am particularly proud of our mission statement and our hard work to live up to it. Having worked within the Air Cadets for twenty years, I have seen countless cadets for whom their Squadrons are such a vital place of support. I feel strongly that our Squadron should provide this haven of development, safety and support for young people. Each year, I see our Team 2286 cadets and staff living up to the very best of the RAF and RAFAC values of respect, integrity, service and excellence. We want every cadet to have the best opportunity to progress, develop and be the best they can be - reflected in our motto Semper Nostrum Optimus, or always our best.
I hope you enjoy looking around our website and seeing some of our cadets enjoying a variety of our activities. If you would like to see more, I recommend checking out our social media channels, where we post regular updates. If you would like more information or are interested in joining Team 2286, please do not hesitate to contact us - I look forward to meeting you soon!
